5 Fashion Resolutions for 2012

I know, I know, New Year's Day has come and gone. But I couldn't go on without posting my fashion goals for this year! You've heard me mention my Pintrest boards before. Pintrest is perfect perfect perfect for inspiration, and that's where the following pictures are from.

 Resolution #1: Colors
I'm drawn to the neutrals, it's a rut, and I've got to get out. This year I'd like to experiment with brighter and bolder colors, maybe throw in some color blocking. I take my appearance so seriously sometimes, and I'd like to take a few more fashion risks this year.

Resolution #2: Mixing patterns
I often shy away from wearing anything outrageous or attention-grabbing, now I'd like to try putting different patterns together. Just not in the tacky, 90's looking-ish way. :)

Resolution #3: Stay away from jean
I have at least 6-7 jean skirts (maybe more) and I am so tired of running to them when all else fails.
I know, they are such an easy solution. Just throw on a top, and you are good to go. Boring!
This is my humble opinion. ;)

Resolution #4:  Thrifting!
I looove thrifting and want to do a whole lot more of it.
It is a great way to save $$$ and still be fabulous!
 Is there a better combination?
Some of my favorite pieces are from thrift stores.
As long as you get your purchases cleaned, you're good.

Resolution #5: DIY (do it yourself) projects!
I am not a crafty person. I used to make fun of my sister Deanna because e-v-e-r-y time we would go shopping she would see something and say, "Ohh, I should make that!"
I would give her that look as if I was saying...."Really?"
But alas, I have seen the light. I find so many little fashion projects I want to do and just
need to get the ball rolling.

Do you have fashion resolutions for 2012? Care to share?
Posting this will keep me accountable. Hopefully! ;)
Happy Thursday!

xo,
Stefanie

  1. I have two denim skirts and I'm getting rid of them! I'm making myself get more creative. I rarely wear denim, but now I won't wear it at alllllll! WOOHOO!

  2. Ahh, denim. I wish I could retire my denim skirt. I have convinced myself that being a mommy REQUIRES me to wear denim all the time, which is so not true. If I adopted this resolution I'd be the best dressed mommy on the playground! I just might give it a try.

  3. I'm trying to get rid of them one by one and not even considering them as an option! It's working so far! :)

  4. Ahhh, you're so brave! I have at least 10 jean skirts that I've been trying to retire. But I have a couple faithfuls that keep creeping thru :)
