In a New York Minute, Part II

...Continued from In a New York Minute Part 1...

Last year I went on a missions trip to Fiji and met some great people from Long Island. It was so good to see them again and have dinner! Although they did lead us all over the world looking for the nearest subway. ;) Thanks for dinner and a good time my friends!

The Metropolitan Museum of Art--AMAZING! This was probably my favorite stop on the trip. So much history to see and experience! They also had a Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada exhibit that staged an imaginary exchange between the two designers. Being as they are from two different generations, it is a must see if you are in the NY area! The exhibit was called "Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations" if you care to look it up. Photography was prohibited, so I can't post any pictures.

Central Park. Doesn't this look so peaceful? That man sitting on the bench looks like he is
on top of the world.

I'll take the apartment smack dab in the middle, please. Isn't it cute?

A final evening in Times Square.

Okay, my tourist days are over for awhile. New York City truly is the city that never sleeps. I am soo glad that my little town rolls up the sidewalks at 9pm! Such an old lady. I would love to hear about your trip to New York if you have ever been!

Hope you enjoyed!

Stefanie

  1. My first trip to NYC was for three days. I shopped, shopped, shopped. SoHo, downtown, mid town, uptown, Brooklyn. I went to NYC in December and it was cold, cold, cold, and snowy! I also saw the Empire State Building that time around and stayed in Manhattan. The second NYC trip had less shopping, more sight seeing/touristy attractions, more restaurants, and I stayed in Brooklyn. That time I went in November and it was perfect. I will never visit Time Square again because that place is a mad house! Oh, and I saw Mary Poppins during NYC trip round 2.

  2. I wished I could have shopped more while I was there, but it just didn't work out as planned. And I probably won't stay in the city next time, although it was fun. Times Square is fun to visit, but there isn't much shopping you can do around there. Just the little tourist shops. I wanted to see Mary Poppins! Would have LOVED to see The Lion King, but they were sold out. Glad I know all of this for next time! :)
