The Fourth Festivities

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays! I usually spend the day with my family, going to the parade, to the beach for a picnic, and then to the local high school for the grand event of the fireworks. I usually get all dressed up in a red, white, and blue coordinated outfit, do my hair, yada yada. This year I spent most of the day in a t-shirt and jean skirt, black converse, and my hair back in a braid. I can't even remember the last time I wore tennis shoes.

I went shooting for the first time! Yay for boyfriends that live in the country!
What an adrenaline rush you feel before pulling that trigger.
And how my sore upper half is paying for that rush.

This is Dustin patiently teaching me not to wave a loaded gun around. Because if you do that, the couple shooting next to you will get worried looks on their faces and sit on the bed of their truck until you're done shooting. But pft, that of course didn't happen!

After a delicious homemade meal (which truly was delicious), we headed to a field to watch the fireworks.
The day was complete.

Thanks to all of Dustin's family for an amazing day!

Hope everyone had a good one! God bless our country, the land that we love.
